Equipment

Equipment needed will vary based on the target age group and type of cricket to be played.

Mostly, soft ball is an easier step into cricket as it requires as little as one kit bag and limited protective equipment.

There are many suppliers who you can buy soft ball equipment from in person and online, please find some recommended websites below:

The Female Cricket Store – The Female Cricket Store

Gray-Nicolls – Gray-Nicolls | Cricket Bats | Loyalty Points | Free UK Shipping

Hard ball equipment can cause financial challenges which makes it a barrier for some people to get into playing hard ball cricket. The Lord Taverners sets to assist individuals and club to break down that barrier.

Discover Cricket Kit Recycling with Lord Taverners:

  • Their cricket kit recycling programme is providing access to the sport for young people in the UK and abroad who would otherwise not be able to participate due to a lack of the right cricket kit and equipment.
  • They collect usable cricket kit from across the UK through a network of local collection hubs.
  • The cricket kit is then sorted and redistributed to partner organisations, who can put it to great use in their communities.
